Lyons-la-Forêt, the administrative centre of the area, awarded 4 flower in the "French towns and villages in bloom" competition, has preserved its charming Norman heritage. Built on the site of a former fortress, the town centre of Lyons developed according to this medieval urban plan around the former feudal motte. The town centre was used as the setting for the film Madame Bovary. The Place Benserade lined with Norman houses, the Corn Exchange from the Middle Ages and the group of old houses built between 1590 and 1790 form a remarkable architectural heritage.

Visit the town hall with the 18th century courtroom and the prison cells on the ground floor.
