In Vernon, visit this Classical chateau built in 1740 and inspired by Versailles. Louis XV, the Duke of Penthièvre and King Louis Philippe were among its owners! The visit will take you to the drawing-rooms adorned with carved wood panelling and souvenirs belonging to the Bonaparte Family, and to the Marshals Suchet, Masséna and Davout. Do not miss: the tapestries made by the Gobelin Manufacture and a marquetry pedestal table offered by Napoleon I. Wander round the English style park, planted with hundred-year-old trees and admire the fountains, ponds and 18th century statues.
